Bucket List Adventure Locations
Oh the places we’ll go…
I was 13 years old and had lived on an Indian reservation until then. My window of exploring was limited to the miles of woods I’d get lost in daily, swinging from the tree vines, or the waterfall we’d slide down on snow sleds until we wore through the plastic.
So when Dad packed up my sister, Sarah, and I in ol’ Big Blue (Holla’ if you had the Mark III Dodge van growing up!!), we road tripped it across the US to Boulder, Colorado. I distinctly remember the belly ache that accompanied my half pound burger that was clearly bigger than my eyes… then weaving through the mountains to get to the old mining towns. I tried to hold it together until I was green in the face and begged dad to pull over. While taking deep breaths along side the road, dad waved for me to explore. He said, “Here! Put your feet in this glacier water, that will make you feel better.” Dipping my toes into the coldest water I’d ever experienced… I found myself. Looking up, I caught my breath as my total awe poured out over the mountain landscape in front of me. I had NO idea someplace this perfect existed.
I would experience this same connection countless times as travel became an integral part of my life. I ventured out along, with friends, and with clients to become seekers of this connection… we just happened to have the camera to document our time together! (along with a fabulous dress of course! Duh!)
I’m asked one of the most difficult questions often… Where is your favorite place you’ve ever traveled? How do I even begin to pick an ultimate? Every corner, crevice, and high point has an intimate shared with me. So I’ll share with you a few of my favorite places I’ve explored and the bucket list of places I have yet to create work in…
